Bubba’s 33 is a Pizza, Burgers, and Beer “Kind of Place.” A friend told me about it so I had to check it out. It’s located on the southeast corner of Constitution and Powers Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80915. When I arrived around 4 pm on a Thursday, I noticed there were lot of cars in the parking lot, but there was no wait at all because they have a large seating area and plenty of staff. The hostess sat us at a booth that was large and very comfortable. The walls and ceilings are covered with lots of TV’s, along with national and local sports memorabilia from NASCAR to pro football. They have football helmets from local high schools mounted on a wall which was cool to see. The service was prompt and friendly. Bubba’s 33 is known for their pizza, burgers & wings, so we naturally had to order those along with a chicken salad for the health nut in our group. The pizza was amazing and compares nicely to Old Chicago’s pizzas. The burger was delicious and reminded me of those juicy burgers I eat at Red Robin. The chicken wings were tasty and were not overcooked. The wings had plenty of meat and we didn’t have to fight through dried out wings often found at some national wing chains. I was very curious about the history of Bubba’s 33 so I did a little research. The owners of Texas Roadhouse based out of Kentucky founded Bubba’s 33 in 2015. They created this concept to compete with Buffalo Wild Wings after some executives ate at a Buffalo Wild Wings and were underwhelmed by the quality of food. They wanted to create a sports bar concept with quality food, friendly staff, and great atmosphere synonymous with Texas Roadhouse. Well, I think they nailed it. There are now two Bubba’s 33 locations in Colorado since they just opened their second location in Aurora. If you haven’t eaten at Bubba's 33, head over and let me know what you think!
